As the temperatures begin to rise, balancing your internal fire becomes essential for maintaining energy and vitality. In Ayurveda, summer is the season of Pitta, characterized by heat and intensity. To stay cool and grounded, small shifts in your daily routine can make a significant difference. Focus on incorporating cooling foods like sweet juicy fruits, cucumbers and coconut water into your meals while minimizing heavy, spicy or fried items that can increase body heat. Staying hydrated with room-temperature water infused with mint or coriander seeds can also help soothe the system. Beyond diet, try to shift your more strenuous activities to the cooler early morning or evening hours and practice calming breathwork to keep your mind as refreshed as your body.
